Monty Johnson, Ubiquisys GM Americas, will be presenting at the Femtocells Americas event in San Diego next week. With a growing wave of femtocell and small cell launches this year, it promises to be a lively show. In fact it’s the only femto-focused event in the Americas.
In his session, Monty will describe how this year Network Norway has provided hundreds of enterprise customers with a premium mobile service based on a self-organising network (SON) of enterprise femtocells.
Other highlights will include views on small cell enterprise value propositions, channel strategy, service delivery and support. He will also touch on customer feedback and the use of enterprise femtocells as a “premium coverage foundation” for smaller companies to switch from fixed to mobile centrex.
Finally, Monty will be giving an update on the work that Intel and Ubiquisys have been doing over the past year on EdgeCloud® devices and applications. Part intelligent cell, part cloud computing platform, EdgeCloud technology promises to change the economics of small cell backhaul and bring cloud apps closer to the ever-growing ranks of smartphone and tablet users.
